A/Professor Nicholas Manolios (MB BS, MD, PhD, FRACP, FRCPA ) is Director of Rheumatology Sydney West Area Health Service and Associate Professor in Medicine, University of Sydney.

 

He is involved in clinical service to Westmead Hospital, administration, teaching and research within the department.

Research Interests

A/Professor Nicholas Manolios research interests are in:

  • structure and assembly of the T-cell antigen receptor. In particular, its role in the predisposition and causation of auto-immune and inflammatory rheumatic disorders
  • Structure-function relationships of T cell assembly and T-cell activation, and how synthetic peptides may be used as therapeutic agents to suppress inflammation;
  • Immunogenetics of rheumatic conditions including SLE and Sjogrens.
