Dr Rosemary Balleine
Translational Oncology
Rosemary Balleine is a medical graduate of the University of Sydney who trained as a Pathologist at Westmead Hospital, obtaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 1999.
In the course of her medical training she obtained a PhD from the University of Sydney for studies on breast cancer under the supervision of Associate Professor Christine Clarke and Professor Rick Kefford of the Westmead Institute for Cancer Research.
She is currently a Cancer Institute NSW Fellow and research group leader in Translational Oncology.
Research Interests
Translational Oncology is concerned with the exchange of ideas and information between the cancer research laboratory and
the oncology
clinic. As a group leader in Translational Oncology, Dr Balleine is involved in a range of clinically orientated research projects.
She has continued her interest in the investigation of breast cancer and on-going projects in the lab include investigations into the nature of early breast cancer and the pathology of familial breast cancer.
