Breast Cancer Tissue Bank awarded Cancer Council NSW Infrastructure Grant
The BCTB was established three years ago to collect and distribute specimens and information to breast cancer research projects.
The operating and administrative processes for the BCTB are established; collection centres have been set up at major hospital/treatment facilities; and donors are being recruited to the program at approximately 60-80 per month.
There is a specific requirement for collection, entry and auditing of clinical, pathology and specimen data. There is also a need for data management solutions to remain current, so that this important information can be linked to the specimens in the Bank. Collection and management of this information is very labour dependent and funding is required to support these activities.
The Cancer Institute NSW Infrastructure Grant will assist with this.
